After graduating magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Washington’s Foster School of Business, Lucy worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers. She left the firm on a one-way ticket to Thailand where she worked as an English teacher at a public middle school in Phuket and later as the marketing intern for a holistic health resort. Lucy went on to found Herbal Philosophy Teas, crafting and selling medicinal teas across North America; Maker Mamas, an artist collective and creator of the Maternal Matters exhibition; and Magic Box Productions, writing and producing a film that was featured at the 2019 Psychedelic Film and Music Festival. Lucy was on the editorial team at BabyCenter in San Francisco before moving back to her hometown of Seattle to work as an independent writer.
